Figure Drawing with Jared Caruso

An approachable drawing class focused on movement, structure, and building a figure step by step.
- Gesture: Start with quick poses (30 sec–5 min) to capture movement, balance, and line of action
- Structure: Use simple shapes to understand proportion, depth, and form in space
- Anatomy: Layer in basic anatomy to support and ground the figureLight & Shadow: Add value to define form and bring the drawing together
This approach helps you understand how the figure works, so you can draw both from observation and imagination.

Driftwood & Clay Wall Hanging
with Julie Sutton
Create a layered clay wall hanging using slabs, texture, and natural materials.
In this class, you’ll work with slab-built clay to form individual pieces, adding texture, carving, and surface detail. You’ll explore how to build depth through layers, then assemble your work into a hanging piece using driftwood.
The focus is on process—working with the clay, experimenting with texture, and seeing how the piece comes together as you go.
You’ll leave with a finished wall hanging that’s both structured and organic, combining clay and natural materials.
No experience needed.
Combo Clay

This Class will focus on handbuilding.
We will start with pinch pots projects and move to Slab work using molds to create a different functional piece each of the following weeks. We will be able to explore different ways to create forms, texture, color and shapes.

Wheel Throwing Foundations - May

Practice makes progress.
This class is focused on building solid foundations you can grow from.
Join us Tuesday nights in the greenhouse for a relaxed, comfortable, and supportive learning space where you can develop skills at your own pace.
- Dates: May 5 – May 26
- Day/Time: Tuesdays, 7:00 – 9:30 pm
- Sessions: 4 classes
- Location: The DIG clay studio at Driftwood & Clay
- Cost: $180
Weekly lessons are paired with guided instruction and hands-on practice. Each session includes focused skill-building, with space to explore and refine techniques.
Whether you’re just starting out or returning to the wheel, you are welcome here.
This class is intentionally small, allowing for individualized support and weekly focus areas based on your experience and goals.
You might be: learning to center, practicing pulling walls, refining forms, or simply reconnecting with the wheel

Slingin' Paint - Landscapes in Acrylic
with Moriah Gallagher
Spend time painting landscapes with Moriah in this acrylic class designed to be approachable and hands-on.
You’ll learn how to break a scene into simple shapes, work with color, and build a painting layer by layer. Whether you’re new or have some experience, the class is set up to help you understand the process while giving you space to make it your own.

Music & Mayhem - Slab Clay work

Music & Mayhem is a relaxed, creative session where things are a little less structured and a lot more open.
With music playing and a mix of materials in front of you, the focus is on making, experimenting, and seeing what happens. You might paint, build, carve, or combine ideas—there’s space to try things without needing a perfect outcome.
