Sgrafitto Sessions- April 30- Clay Platters
with Beki Javernick
Join Beki for a hands-on clay class during open mic night, where you’ll create your own platter using sgraffito—a surface technique that involves carving through layers to reveal contrast and pattern.
We’ll start by forming a platter, then work with slip and carving tools to build simple, bold designs. Sgraffito is less about perfection and more about paying attention to line and texture.
This class is designed to be relaxed and social—work at your own pace while music and performance happen around you. Come ready to try something new, get your hands dirty, and create a piece that’s both functional and personal.

Driftwood & Clay Wall Hanging
with Julie Sutton
Create a layered clay wall hanging using slabs, texture, and natural materials.
In this class, you’ll work with slab-built clay to form individual pieces, adding texture, carving, and surface detail. You’ll explore how to build depth through layers, then assemble your work into a hanging piece using driftwood.
The focus is on process—working with the clay, experimenting with texture, and seeing how the piece comes together as you go.
You’ll leave with a finished wall hanging that’s both structured and organic, combining clay and natural materials.
